The module embedded component module on this small wireless orientation sensor contains an STMicro 3 axis accelerometer and a 3 axis magnetometer. Sensor signal processing and interfacing of the sensor and the 2.4 GHz wireless transceiver is accomplished with a TI MSP430FR5729 microcontroller.
Wires shown in the picture at the right provide a serial connection to a USB interface and are use only for firmware development. A 2 x 3 pad array in the upper left corner can be used for programming with a Tag-Connect probe.
Power for the sensor is provided by a CR1632 battery on the back side.
Six-axis wireless orientation sensor. Overall size is 16mm x 24mm. Wires provide UART serial output for debug and are removed for deployment.
